ABOUT THE GOOD AND THE BAD SCULPTURE
Video, 4:30 min, video still
The video tells a story about two sculptures I made. One was meant to be good and the other one bad. It creates a duality between the two objects in which expectations that are linked to the sculptures have to be reinterpreted again and again.

Excerpt from the script: "...This one was meant to be the good one. The problem was that I did not make a resolute decision in choosing a curved line or a straight line. There is this constant feeling of doubt, like in this line…It goes to the left, a little bit to the right and then immediately back to the left. The other problem is that the sculpture doesn’t stand very stable. I think I handled the sculpture with to much care and now it looks like an unfinished object.
Unlike the right one, the left sculpture worked out pretty well. It does have nice curves. I like this detail over here where it has this very elegant shape. The only thing is that this one was meant to fail. I was thinking of choosing a different material so that the two sculptures become more individual. First I thought of a gold tinted paint but that fits too well with the black marble pedestal. So maybe a wood structure is better..."
